Malha reintroduces a historic Portuguese lawn game built on skill, community, and friendly competition. Traditionally played in village squares and open fields, the game centers on tossing metal discs to knock down a wooden pin, simple to learn, yet endlessly engaging. This modern interpretation preserves the heritage and spirit of the original game while redesigning the experience for today’s beaches, backyards, and gatherings, turning a timeless tradition into a new way for people to connect, compete, and play together.
Malha has a rich cultural history, but for many modern audiences it remains unfamiliar or inaccessible. This project creates an opportunity to bring the game into contemporary life by reframing it as a social outdoor activity that feels fresh, approachable, and relevant without losing its roots.
The brand positions Malha as proof that some traditions do not need to be reinvented, only reintroduced. By blending heritage with modern design, the project turns a centuries old lawn game into a new reason for people to gather, compete, and connect.
The project includes a full brand identity, packaging system, campaign direction, and supporting promotional materials designed to make Malha feel both rooted in tradition and ready for a contemporary audience. Every touchpoint helps preserve the game’s spirit while inviting new players in.
